Climate Crisis Organizations (LOCAL and REGIONAL)

www.PowerPastCoal.org  -- This effort is organizing in the Northwest to oppose exporting coal from our Pacific ports.  This is a campaign of Climate Solutions.
www.nwenergy.org -- The NW Energy Coalition is an alliance of more than 110 environmental, civic and human service organizations, progressive utilities, and businesses in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia.  They promote renewable energy and energy efficiency, consumer protection, low-income energy assistance, and fish and wildlife restoration on the Columbia and Snake rivers. 
www.climatesolutions.org – Local people in the greater Olympia-Seattle area have appreciated Climate Solutions from its beginning a number of years ago as the Atmosphere Alliance.  Under the current name, Climate Solutions, continues to work for pragmatic win-win solutions including businesses and other stakeholders.  Climate Solutions (206) 443-9570  It is organizing the Power Past Coal campaign.  See www.PowerPastCoal.org
www.coalexportaction.org – This is a good source of information and action opportunities about coal exports in the Pacific Northwest.
www.thurstonclimateaction.org – Connect with the Thurston Climate Action Team.
www.thurstonenergy.org – Thurston Energy is a nonprofit group doing good work locally.
People of faith work on climate issues:  A nationwide organization of people of faith who are working on the climate issue is Interfaith Power & Light (www.interfaithpowerandlight.org).  It has statewide affiliates, including one in Washington, which is related to Earth Ministry (www.earthministry,org), an organization that has been connecting people of faith with environmental concerns since 1992.  As we organize, let’s be sure to include these organizations in our outreach and networking.
